Award winning weekend

Corey, the kids, and I just returned from our annual meeting with great friends and outdoorsy folks at the South Carolina Outdoor Press Association(SCOPe) annual meeting. This year it was held in the Olde English District. Where is the Olde English District you might ask? Right here:

Sandwiched between Columbia and Charlotte is a secret travel treasure that has history, antiques, southern charm, class III white water, and... oh yeah,... big fish!

Julie is thinking "I think mine was bigger"

We will get to those adventures later, but first, on Saturday night, SCOPe had its Excellence in Craft Competition awards ceremony. South Carolina is filled to the brim with excellent outdoor communicators. Any time we win an award, we are proud to say the least. Especially when three of our combined awards highlighted our previous conference hosts, Lake Murray Country.

This week, I will point you to Corey's award winning photo and article found in a great online publication, ReThink Rural. Enjoy the read and the photo of Paul paddling in Congaree National Park! Link to story: Essential Tips For Canoeing With Kids (raydientplaces.com)
